Should your travels require navigation through severe conditions such as deeper snow and sand, go with the available Freedom-Drive I active full-time 4WD with LOCK Mode and an available CVT automotive transaxle with AutoStick® shifter with six distinct “speeds.” AutoStick allows the driver to maximize engine braking, control upshifts, downshifts, and optimize overall performance and control.

Patriot’s available Trail Rated® Freedom-Drive II Off-Road Group helps earn Patriot the nod for best-in-class off-road capability. It’s due to the group’s active, full-time 4WD with LOCK Mode, Hill Descent Control (HDC) with grade sensing and Hill Start Assist (standard on Freedom-Drive II 4WD as well as manual transmission equipped models), skid plates, tow hooks, increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, heavy-duty cooling and alternator, and driver-seat height adjuster matched to a Continuously Variable Automatic Transaxle (CVT2L) with 19:1 crawl ratio.

Safety

Jeep® Patriot received the highest marks — Five Stars — during side crash tests performed as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s SaferCar.gov program. Patriot’s air bag system includes a front and rear side-curtain and advanced multistage driver and front passenger air bags.
